Stainless Airbox and Snorkel

Post by Mulza87 »

Hey guys, I've been searching for a bit of advice.  Had an airbox and snorkel (both stainless) installed on my D40 a few months ago.

Absolutely love the look, but definitely didn't do my homework.  This thing is insanely loud (can't drive with the windows down, but also externally driving past), even compared to other stainless snorkels on other fourbys.  Is it possible to deaden the sound at all?  I'm wondering if switching back to a plastic/stock airbox will help.  I can't work out why it's so much louder than my mate's Landcruiser, etc.  I've essentially strapped a trumpet to the front of the car.
